Malcolm was born and raised in Staffordshire and had an interest in painting and drawing from an early age, including the Scottish scenery when on holiday as a young boy. He went to art school in Birmingham and worked in graphic design afterwards.

Malcolm moved to Scotland in 1994 and in 2003 he started painting and drawing full time and was fortunate enough to sell a few pieces. He mostly enjoys working in acrylic and capturing light on the hills and water of Argyll and the Clyde. Malcolm aims to do more work in watercolour and gouache.
