ANNE HEWITT
The majority of Anne’s work is done in oils on linen. She is a self-taught marine artist with a studio looking over The Kyles of Bute at Tighnabruaich on the rugged west coast of Scotland; a destination made famous by The Waverley paddle steamer’s “Doon The Watter” summer visits. After thirty-five years in London with jobs as varied as conference organiser, metal futures trading, to having run her own Feng Shui Consultancy, Anne moved to Scotland with her husband and two Labradors in 2001 where she began to paint.
Brought up in Lymington between the New Forest and The Solent, she has a love of water, wildlife and horses that is the inspiration for many of her evocative seascapes and realistic portrayals of animals. She has exhibited widely in Scotland, held solo exhibitions and ran her own series of oil painting workshops at Portavadie, Loch Fyne Marina and Spa. Anne’s paintings are now in private collections all over the world.
