GRAEME NICHOL

Graeme is a self-taught artist taking inspiration from the landscape without and emotion within. Returning to live in Scotland in 2011, a chance encounter with the late Scottish landscape artist Jim Owen led to a lifelong passion for the art of others turning into the passion to create and share his own view of the world.

Working mainly in charcoal or acrylic, which suit the easy flow of observation, Graeme explores the local landscape and its maritime heritage with forays into other areas such as pop art and found sculpture as whimsy dictates. Graeme also captures and shares the landscape he sees through unique photographic images destroying both record and negative as the images move into the hands of others.

Graeme mainly displays locally in the West of Scotland both as a solo artis and with others. His work is in collections across the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
