Lisa is an artist who lives in Gourock, on the banks of the River Clyde. After graduating from Glasgow University, having gained an MA ( Hons ) in History and a Postgraduate degree in Business, she went on to enjoy a successful career in the manufacturing industry. However after 15 years she relinquished her position as Operations Director, for a medical company to focus her time on the care of her son.


This change in pace has allowed Lisa to pursue her first love of art, which she has been studying during the weekly painting classes she attends and further developing through her independent practice within her garden studio at home.


Lisa is inspired by the rugged and unforgiving natural landscape of her local area. She aims to capture the dramatic contrasts of the weather, ranging from powerful forces to tranquil serenity. Her preferred palette embodies what she calls “West Coast colours”, with jewel-like sprinklings of misty blues and greys, pale pinks, ruby reds and dewy greens, combining to reflect the dappled effects of the rapidly changing light on her subject matter. Her favourite mediums are acrylic, pencil and watercolour, which she often combines into her mixed media compositions.
