Marion graduated from DJCAD Dundee with a degree in Textile Design and has a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education.

She is a retired teacher and practicing artist and she leads teacher’s workshops for Glasgow Life at GoMA, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and for the Luminate Festival, Scotland.

She is an artist member and award winner of Paisley Arts Institute, and artist member of Glasgow Society of Women Artists, a judge for the Glasgow Institute of Architects annual building design awards and a recent judge for the annual Glasgow Children’s Art Competition at Kelvingrove.

Her solo exhibitions include The New Glasgow Society, The Lighthouse, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Cass Art, Tron Theatre, St Andrew’s In The Square and The Arlington Baths Club. Marion was an invited guest artist exhibiting at the David Mach R.A. Studio in London.

Marion has participated in group shows at The Theatre Royal, The Stirling Smith Gallery, The Lillie Gallery, Milngavie and The Maclaurin Art Gallery, Ayr with GSWA and most recently Paisley Art Institute’s virtual 2020 exhibition.

Her collage work inspired by architecture was selected for the “Lines of Thought” Exhibition at The Lighthouse, marking the bicentenary of the birth of Glasgow architect Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson. She was invited to exhibit two collages in the ‘Takes On Thomson 2020’ online exhibition organised by The Alexander Thomson Society.

Another thread of her collage work is currently being exhibited in the Seagull Gallery. These artworks are inspired by the patterns found on fragments of sea pottery from the west and east coast beaches of Scotland. The art work is painted with acrylic pens and paints on canvas and included the found pottery which is the centrepiece of each painting.
