Michael is an artist and art teacher, living and working in Glasgow. He trained at Wimbledon School of Art and Goldsmiths’ College, University of London.
For the last thirty years, or so, he has painted mostly landscapes, which can be Scottish landscapes, pictures of Glasgow parks, French landscapes, mostly from Brittainy, or Spanish landscapes, mostly from the area around Ronda, in Andalucía. Generally, the subjects of his paintings have some personal, symbolic association, but are as much about allowing him to explore the formal elements of painting, which have always fascinated him, like creating colour, textural or compositional effects.
