“In the struggles with life art is my sanctuary.”

Born in Glasgow during the 1970’s. Scott is a multidisciplinary artist and has been active in the art/music scene for many years. After studying illustration and working freelance for a number of years, he felt the need to move into areas that would allow more freedom of expression for his multi-faceted talents. At this point Scott returned to oil painting with his focus on refining his methods and techniques,while simultaneously releasing music under the moniker ‘Scopeotaku’.

Scott’s objective is to observe and capture the magical moments that occur during naturally changing light and his personal perception. He finds beauty within unusual subjects, exploring this through his use of multiple mediums from traditional art and oil painting techniques to digital drawing and printmaking. His inspirations range from nature to literature, in particular William Blake and Aldous Huxley.
Scott, alongside his partner, the artist Angela Hynd (who is also represented by the Seagull Gallery), work together in their Glasgow studio. In this creative sanctuary he produces paintings, illustrations, prints, music and video, favouring more traditional techniques often combining these with contemporary subjects, methods and perspectives.

His artwork has been used for book/music covers, posters for events/festivals, shown in galleries across Scotland and was also projected in a music/visual exhibition during a Handel’s Messiah recital at Glasgow Cathedral. He was also featured in a Glasgow newspaper article - “One of the city's newest “ talents." - Jonathan Rennie - Evening Times.
