SHONA McINNES
Orcadian born Shona McInnes studied stained glass and printmaking at Glasgow School of Art in the 1980’s. She is a familiar name in the Scottish stained glass field, creating contemporary glass for hospitals, colleges and churches. Her commissions include the Dunblane Memorial Windows and the Oil Industry Chapel window in Aberdeen - which received a Saltire Award for Arts in Architecture. She often draws inspiration from landscape, weaving it with local lore & legend. Strong lines and bold colour are her signature style but she enjoys using more intimate, painterly techniques for small bespoke pieces. She also designs for individual clients and her work is a treasured focal point in many homes across the country. At her Morayshire studio she runs classes, mentors local art pupils and welcomes visitors during ‘North East Open Studios’ every September.
